The Butts Close Inquiry

08/03/2018 By admin2

Butts CloseButts Close  The Planning Inspector has refused the application by NHDC to build a road across Butts Close. The Public Inquiry into their application for consent was opened on 21 November 2017 by Mark Yates BA (Hons), Member of the Institute of Public Rights Of Way, and DEFRA Planning Inspector.  His summary states – “The application is for works on the common to construct a tarmac access road and associated low level post and rail fence. Having regard to the issues outlined, I conclude that the benefits arising from the proposed access road and associated car park are outweighed by the impact that the works would have on the nature and use of the common presently enjoyed by members of the public.  It follows that I conclude that the application should be refused.” For the Friends of Butts Close newsletter, containing the Decision click here. Good news for this precious green space.
