A Youth Activities Directory for Hitchin, first compiled by local community groups in 2015, has just been updated for 2016/17, providing a useful information source for young people, parents, schools and community groups.
Community groups making up Hitchin Town Action Group (HTAG) – Hitchin Forum, The Hitchin Society and Hitchin Historical Society supported by the business community through Hitchin Initiative – have been assisted this year by AboutMyArea Hitchin Editor, Emma Sangster in updating the Directory.
Ellie Clarke, of HTAG, said: “This Directory highlights just how many organisations and activities there are for young people in Hitchin. Hitchin has a huge pool of volunteers providing a great variety of facilities and activities in Hitchin and we are very grateful to the dozens of clubs and groups who have helped us to make it as comprehensive and up to date as possible. This Directory provides an up to date and central information source for finding out about them. We hope it will be helpful for those providing activities for young people, but also for the young people themselves in exploring clubs and organisations locally for sports, hobbies as well as social activities.”
The Directory will be updated again in 2017, but information about any youth activities in Hitchin is welcome at any time. The 2016/17 Directory can be viewed at www.hitchinforum.org.uk and at AboutMyArea and will shortly be available on the ‘Hitchin Life’ page of www.hitchinherts.com
