The Big Hitchin Spring Clean on Sunday was a great success. 93 volunteers were organized into 12 teams and they worked hard! 149 bags of rubbish plus other big items – a mattress, tent, 6 bound bundles of newspapers, wheelbarrow frame and much else. The least welcome find was a pile of 30+doggie bags with unmentionable contents! All has been collected by NHDC. This was organized by Hitchin Forum with the support of Hitchin Initiative & NHDC. Well done to all who joined in – a good job well done! The teams covered the following sites as pictured – The Station, The Dell, Redhill & Maxwell Paths & Lucas Lane, Priory bypass, Butts Close, Bancroft Rec and last, but not least, Ransoms Recreation Ground.
